Ireland Trip

Looking for Leprechauns

In October of 2013 Steffi and I set out to explore parts of Ireland.

After leaving the airport and getting used to driving on the wrong side of the road, our first destination was the Powerscourt House & Gardens south of Dublin. The size of the garden, its variety of plants and the meticulously laid out arrangements where pretty impressive.

Right at the coast, we found ourselves in Bray, where we walked up to Bray Head, a little hill with an amazing view of the sea and along the cliffs.

You can’t go to Ireland without visiting Kilkenny, home of the Smithwick’s. It also happens to be a really nice town with a beautiful castle, nice surroundings and good restaurants.

Another beautiful garden can be found at the Muckross House in Killarney National Park, which itself has a lot to offer.

We were a bit unlucky with the weather when driving around the Ring of Kerry. So we can only imagine how pretty the views must be when the clouds and fog are gone.

Another thing you shouldn’t miss if you ever visit Ireland: The Cliffs of Moher.
